I'm sorry I haven't posted faithfully. Last week was 'The Fair', and this week we are preparing for a garage sale.

The Fair is one of the big events of the summer. It wears us all out, and takes lots of time and energy, but we look forward to it every year. This year my brothers exhibited 28 chickens and ducks, 2 goats, photography, and posters for geology and shooting sports. Everyone did great, winning lots of blue ribbons, and a few champion rosettes and plaques. We spent most of every day at the fair. With this many people, fair food would be too expensive if it weren't for the "Legion Burgers". The American Legion has a food stand where they sell burgers, fries, and drinks for just a dollar an item. Of course the food isn't exactly delicious, but with enough dill pickles, its edible! During the fair Miriam and Gabe participated in a pet parade. They took 4 of our puppies (pictured above). It was a lot of fun for M and G, but I think it wore the poor puppies out. They were a big hit though.

It's been in the 90s and very humid the last couple of days. Our AC just can't keep up, so it's pretty miserable. We are sorting through toys and clothes getting stuff ready for the garage sale. I'm sure we won't get everything sorted out in time, but it will be a start, and we can always have another one later.

In less that two weeks we are heading for the beach for our annual summer vacation/family reunion.
